Ensure the safety of your home's electrical wiring and appliances using our safety checklist
A 100 point safety check identifies old, degraded or even incorrectly installed wiring and electrical equipment in the home. Its purpose is to highlight areas that could be dangerous, potentially leading to house fires or electrocution.
At completion of our check, we will provide you with a report that outlines our findings and recommendations for any repairs or upgrades that need to be made. Skellec Electrical can also handle completion of these tasks, ensuring that your home provides a safe environment.
Whilst it is important that you have regular safety checks performed on your home, it’s especially important if you have recently purchased the property – you cannot be sure that the previous owners did everything correctly.
Some of the areas that will be covered include:
A house electrical safety check is where we go and check the switchboard, test the circuit breakers and safety switches on the switchboard, inspect the existing electrical wiring, visual inspection of power point lights and switches and ensure the lights are earthed.
A safety switch is a residual current device that will trip the power within 0.03 seconds of someone
coming into contact of it. With the new regulations it is recommended that every circuit on your
switchboard be fitted with safety switches.
If you notice your lights flickering, or you find your safety switches are tripping, then you should get a safety check done.
