The water is not hot enough:

One of the first signs you may notice is your showers often turning cold halfway through. This problem can be caused by a number of things. It could be a faulty thermostat or a faulty element. Skellec Electrical will test the unit to determine what is at fault and can arrange to replace the thermostat or element (or both) which can improve the situation almost immediately. Replacing the thermostat might be the only replacement you need.

No hot water at all.                

Another issue is if you have no hot water at all. This problem can be caused by a number of things, it could be a faulty element, thermostat, circuit breaker or water leak. Skellec Electrical will test the unit to determine what is at fault and can arrange to repair the unit. On occasions both the element and the thermostat will need to be replaced. Skellec Electrical will check the unit and repair as needed.

Life span of a hot water service

We have found that most hot water systems have a life span between 10 to 20 years.

If you inspect the tank and notice that the base of the tank is all rusted and leaking water everywhere it has come to the end of its life and will need to be replaced.
